A bridge across the Morava River near the Slovak capital of Bratislava could be named after Hollywood martial arts star Chuck Norris, the Lenta.ru website reported on Friday.
Norris is a frontrunner with 74 percent in an online poll that will run until April.
Austro-Hungarian Empress Maria Theresa is a distant runner-up with only 8 percent of the vote.
The 1980s action hero is known for classics like Lone Wolf McQuade, Missing in Action and the TV series Walker, Texas Ranger.
He is also the source of internet classic Chuck Norris Facts, which makes fun of his macho strength and invincibility.
The final decision, however, will rest with the regional authorities.
American comedians Stephen Colbert and Jon Stewart won a similar poll in Hungary six years ago to choose the name for a bridge in Budapest but it ended up being named the Megyeri Bridge.
