Occupy D.C. activists tried to block the on monitors showing U.S. Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney’s speech at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in Washington, but were ultimately escorted outside, CBS News reported.

Viewers inside the Marriott Wardman Park hotel yelled at dozens of protesters, who covered their mouths with tape in a silent protest, telling them to “get a job.”

“They weren't tall enough to block the screen, but it was still annoying,” Kevin Spiley, a college student from New Jersey, was quoted by CBS News as saying.

Occupy D.C. is a form of public protest through the occupation of public space in Washington, D.C., in particular at McPherson Square. It is linked to Occupy protest movements against unequal social and economic conditions. The movements gained popularity across the United States in the fall of 2011, later spreading to European countries.
