Iran would be upfront with the world about any plans to produce nuclear weapons, the Islamic Republic's foreign minister said on Tuesday.
"If we wanted to develop nuclear weapons, we would openly announce that," minister Ali Akbar Salehisaid during a news conference in Yerevan, Armenia.
Yukiya Amano, head of the International Atomic Energy Agency, said in mid-September a new report on Iran's nuclear program would be published in November.
The United States, Britain and France insist the information be disclosed as soon as possible, which could lead to a new array of international sanctions against Iran.
"The IAEA statements seek to put pressure on Iran," Salehi said.
There has also been speculation that the report could lead to Western powers and/or Israel launching surgical strikes against Iranian facilities.
