Libya's acting Prime Minister Mahmoud Jibril said on Sunday he wished ex-leader Muammar Gaddafi was alive to face trial.
"To be honest with you at the personal level I wish (Col Gaddafi) was alive. I want to know why he did this to the Libyan people. I wish I were his prosecutor in his trial," Jibril said in an interview with the BBC.
Gaddafi, who had ruled Libya for 42 years, was captured and killed by the National Transitional Council fighters on Thursday near his home town of Sirte.
There is still much controversy over the circumstances surrounding his death.
The NTC officials claim he was caught in crossfire between loyalists and anti-Gaddafi troops but witnesses say he was shot dead point-blank by young rebels after being captured.
Jibril added that he would welcome a full investigation into the colonel's death as has been urged by the UN, the United States and human rights groups.
