One of the two men accused of carrying out a deadly metro bombing in the Belarusian capital of Minsk said on Monday that investigators had pressured him to enter a guilty plea.

Vladislav Kovalyov was accused with Dmitry Konovalov of the April 11 attack that killed 15 people and left scores injured. Konovalov is accused of masterminding the bombing, while Kovalyov has been charged as an accessory to terrorism.

"Everything that I said during questioning, I found out from investigators. They convinced me that more I said, the better it would be for me," Kovalyov told the court.

He also said investigators had warned him that "no one would believe me if I said I knew nothing."

Prosecutors say the two explosives enthusiasts were inspired by a hatred for mankind. They could face the death penalty if found guilty.
