The Tanzanian region of Zanzibar on Sunday began three official days of mourning for the victims of a ferry sinking that killed nearly 200 people.
The ferry, the MV Spice Islanders, left Unguja at around 21:00 (19:00 GMT) on Saturday. It was carrying about 800 people and tons of cargo when it capsized amid strong waves between Zanzibar's main islands of Unguja and Pemba.
Rescuers saved 579 people, including 20 children, said Mohamed Aboud, the state minister of Zanzibar.
