The two nationalists found guilty of the 2009 central Moscow murder of a human rights lawyer and an opposition journalist have appealed to Russia's Supreme Court.
Nikita Tikhonov was sentenced to life in jail for the killing of lawyer Stanislav Markelov and Novaya Gazeta journalist Anastasia Baburova in January 2009. Yevgeniya Khasis was sentenced to 18 years behind bars as an accomplice.
Khasis's lawyer, Gennady Nebritov, said on Wednesday he would lodge a more detailed appeal after receiving a report from the court on the trial.
Khasis pleaded not guilty, while Tikhonov admitted to a separate arms trading charge, but denied involvement in the murder.
Both had links to the outlawed ultranationalist group, Russky Obraz.
