Russia's largest beer producer, Baltika, expressed its condolences to the people of Japan over the recent tragedy and decided to allocate 100,000 euros ($140,670) in aid for the quake-hit country.
Baltika, which belongs to Carlsberg Group, said in a statement it would send the money via the Red Cross.
The company has also announced it decided to change its current large-scale promotion activity in Russia, which offers a trip to Tokyo as the main prize.
The promotion activity in support of company's move on the Japanese market was called "Baltika 7 now in Japan. Win a trip to Tokyo." It was due to be officially launched on April 1.
The company said the idea and the concept of the promo-action emerged in the fall of the last year, long before the tragic events in Japan.
A 9.0-magnitude earthquake and tsunami devastated northeastern Japan last Friday, leaving over 6,400 dead and 10,260 missing, according to most recent police statistics.
