Bolivian President Evo Morales' Cabinet resigned on Sunday in an expected move as the country's leader has completed the first year of his second term.

"All the ministers of the Bolivian government have resigned so that President Evo Morales could access the work of each of us and take a decision whether we will remain in the cabinet or should be changed," Foreign Minister David Choquehuanca said.

The new cabinet could be announced on Monday, he said.

Morales' popularity rating went down after the president signed a decree in December raising fuel prices by 83%. The announcement led to violent protests across the country and forced him to annul the decree.

Experts believe the cabinet's resignation could give the country's president an opportunity to bring changes in important sectors and regain popularity among Bolivians.
