The British royal family is expected to celebrate another wedding in 2011 as the Queen's granddaughter Zara Phillips is engaged to her long-term boyfriend, a rugby player, Mike Tindall, Buckingham Palace's press service said on Tuesday.

"The Princess Royal and Captain Mark Phillips are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter Zara Phillips to Mr. Mike Tindall, son of Mr. Phillip and Mrs. Linda Tindall," the statement said.

The announcement of the engagement between the 29-year-old Phillips and the 32-year-old Tindall came just a month after Prince William, the elder son of heir-to-the-throne Prince Charles, said he would marry his long-term girlfriend Kate Middleton on April 29 at Westminster Abbey.

Phillips, 12th in line to the throne, met England and Gloucester rugby player Tindall at a post-Rugby World Cup party in late 2003 and has been dating him since.

The couple has not yet set a date but they are expected to get married in 2011.

Phillips is also a sports lover. She is the former Eventing World Champion and was named BBC Sports Personality Of The Year in 2006.
