The latest report by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) on Iran's nuclear activities is politically motivated, the Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman said on Tuesday.
The IAEA report focuses on "non-technical" issues and is "filled with political overtones," Ramin Mehmanparast was quoted by Iran Press TV as saying.
He said the IAEA was only supposed to deal with technical issues and potential Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty violations.
Mehmanparast reiterated Iran's readiness to hold talks with the Vienna Group on a fuel swap deal for the Tehran research reactor based on a deal signed between Iran, Turkey and Brazil in May.
The IAEA report, released on Monday, urges Iran to "cooperate in clarifying outstanding issues" and suspend its uranium enrichment activities.
Iran says it has been fully cooperating with the IAEA and has answered all questions regarding its nuclear work.
Western powers suspect Iran of seeking to build nuclear weapons under the guise of its nuclear program, which Tehran says is aimed at the peaceful generation of civilian energy.
On June 9, the UN Security Council passed a resolution imposing a fourth set of sanctions on Iran over its nuclear program.
