Russian president Dmitry Medvedev will attend the funeral of late Polish President Lech Kaczynski and his wife, who died on Saturday in a plane crash in western Russia, the Kremlin announced on Wednesday
The national mourning period for the victims of the plane crash has been prolonged until midnight on Sunday by acting president Bronislaw Komorowski, a governmental spokesman told journalists on Wednesday.
"The mourning period has been extended to coincide with funeral of the Polish president and his wife in Krakow on Sunday" the spokesman said.
