MOSCOW, September 23 (RIA Novosti) - Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is ready to build friendly relations with the United States, the presidential website quoted him as saying in a French TV interview.

The Iranian leader is currently in New York for the United Nations General Assembly, where he will deliver a speech later in the day.

In response to a question on the possibility of meeting President Barack Obama, Ahmadinejad told France 2: "We consider ourselves as a friend of all nations and anybody who holds out his hands in a friendly manner, we will warmly shake his hands."

He also "stressed that Iranians like dialogue and constructive interaction, but that such dialogue should be in the framework of mutual respect and justice, and we wait to see changes which President Obama had already promised," the website said.

Ahmadinejad told the channel that in his speech to the UN, he will present Iran's "clear and human solutions" for resolving world problems.

Israeli officials have said Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will boycott Ahmadinejad's speech and encourage other leaders to do the same.

Germany's Foreign Ministry has said that if the Iranian president "denies the Holocaust or makes anti-Semitic statements" in his speech, German diplomats will walk out.
