MOSCOW, September 1 (RIA Novosti) - The Iranian parliament is continuing a debate on the approval of 11 ministers put forward for Cabinet posts by the country's president, PressTV reported on its website on Tuesday.

Debates on the 21-minister cabinet proposed by President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad began on Sunday, sparking heated discussions among parliamentary members.

In order to secure a Cabinet post, a presidential nominee must be approved by a majority of members of parliament.

Ahmadinejad's landslide June 12 election victory sparked mass protests amid opposition allegations of ballot fraud. According to Iranian media, at least 13 people were killed and over 450 arrested in the biggest challenge to the Islamic Revolution since the 1979 overthrow of U.S.-backed Shah Reza Pahlavi.
