WHO says 48 countries confirm 13,398 swine flu cases, 95 deaths

According to the World Health Organization's latest update, a total of 13,398 people in 48 countries worldwide have been officially diagnosed with the A/H1N1 influenza virus, with a total of 95 deaths.

MOSCOW, May 27 (RIA Novosti) - According to the World Health Organization's latest update, a total of 13,398 people in 48 countries worldwide have been officially diagnosed with the A/H1N1 influenza virus, with a total of 95 deaths.

According to Wednesday's update, 6,764 people have been diagnosed with the A/H1N1 virus in the U.S., with 10 deaths. In Mexico, 4,541 have been diagnosed and 83 have died. In Canada, there have been 921 cases and one death, and in Costa Rica there have been 33 cases with one death.

Other countries with registered cases of the swine flu (no deaths) include:

Spain - 138

Britain - 137

Chile - 86

Panama - 76

Australia - 39

Ecuador - 28

Peru - 27

Italy - 23

China - 22

South Korea - 21

Argentina - 19

Kuwait - 18

Germany - 17

France - 16

Colombia - 16

El Salvador -11

New Zealand - 9

Brazil - 9

Israel - 9

Belgium - 7

Guatemala - 5

Cuba - 4

Norway - 4

The Netherlands, Poland, Switzerland and Sweden have three cases each, Russia, Finland, Malaysia, Thailand, the Philippines and Turkey have two confirmed cases each, and Austria, Denmark, India, Greece, Ireland, Portugal and Honduras have one each.
