Russia imposed a transportation and postal blockade on Georgia October 3, apparently in retaliation for the detention of four Russian army officers on espionage charges.
Georgia's parliament said the sanctions Russia imposed against Georgia were first of all aimed against the Georgian nation and not against the country's political leadership. It said Russia's policy was "hostile," but added that Georgia would never "take similar steps."
The Georgian parliament said the rights of Georgian citizens of Russian origin as well as of Russian citizens who are temporarily in Georgia "have always been and will be defended."
According to the latest information, a Russian Emergency Situations Ministry plane with 119 Georgians deported by Russia has arrived in Tbilisi airport.
The Federal Migration Service said this morning that Russia will deport another 119 Georgians, whom authorities accuse of being in the country illegally.
A total of 180 Georgians were deported at the beginning of October from Russia, following the recent spying row between the ex-Soviet neighbors.
