KIEV, January 5 (RIA Novosti) - Another case of the bird flu virus has been registered in the settlement of Solnechnoye in the Ukrainian autonomy of the Crimea, the Ukrainian TV reported Thursday.
The deaths of fowl in the settlement have been confirmed by local veterinary authorities, the Ukrainian TV Channel 5 said. In November-December 2005, the Ukrainian authorities in the Crimea reported for the first time bird flu cases similar to the strains believed to have caused outbreaks in Japan, China and Russia's Far East.
