Maryana Naumova, 12, the strongest girl in Russia, has set three world records for teenagers under 15 years during power-lifting competitions in Yekaterinburg. She lifted 70-kg, 72.2-kg and 73-kg barbells.
Naumova, a student from Khimki near Moscow, has set 12 world bench-press records in her category. She also hopes to win at the upcoming World Power-Lifting Championships. Right now, Naumova would like to take part in Arnold Fitness Weekend, an annual body-building competition formerly called the Arnold Classic. Named after Arnold Schwarzenegger, the event has been held for over 20 years.
Yekaterinburg hosted an open power-lifting and bench-press competition during the Fifth Golden Tiger Strength Sports Festival which involved more than 2,000 athletes. They vied for victory in power-lifting, body-building, arm-wrestling and other events.
