The Lada Kalina Sport that Prime Minister Vladimir Putin used to drive down the Amur Highway was put on display at the AvtoVAZ section of the Moscow International Motor Show on September 1. The prime minister drove the yellow supermini from Khabarovsk to Chita during his trip to the country’s Far East.
The manufacturer claims that the car was not specially prepared for Vladimir Putin, and that the model already had a satellite navigation system onboard. Lada Kalinas equipped with GPS are set to roll out as early as next year.
A closer look at the car reveals small chips in the paint and pieces of gravel in the tires. However, proof of the car’s authenticity is Vladimir Putin’s signature.
AvtoVAZ began manufacturing the Lada Kalina Sport in 2008. The car has a 98 hp engine and can reach speeds of 200 km/h.
After the auto show in Moscow, Vladimir Putin’s Lada Kalina will be displayed at the AvtoVAZ museum.
