On Tuesday the criminal court of Thailand dismissed the appeal to deny U.S. extradition of Russian businessman Viktor Bout.
After the hearing Bout spent some time behind bars in a secure transfer cell where prisoners wait to appear in court or to be sent to jail. The businessman spoke briefly with the RIA Novosti correspondent before being shackled and driven to jail in a separate bus.
During the morning hearing, Bout confirmed his withdrawal of an action against the local authorities he had filed under Article 90 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Thailand (illegal custody).
