The winners of the prestigious Dakar 2010 rally held in South America have returned to Russia. The Kamaz-Master team entered the arrivals lounge at Domodedovo Airport holding a large, grand-prize trophy sculpturing a Bedouin. “At the airport we flew out of they were very worried about flight security and nearly made us check it with our luggage,” Kamaz-Master team leader Semyon Yakubov said. When the guards learned that the statue was a Dakar 2010 prize, however, the team was allowed to take it aboard the plane, he added. The competition began on January 1 in Buenos Aires. On January 16, the Kamaz-Master crew led by Vladimir Chagin came in first. This was the sixth time that Chagin won the Dakar off-road race, and the ninth win for the team.
