WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — The upcoming presidential election in the United States is shaping up as a referendum on the US federal government and its actions, a Rasmussen Reports poll revealed on Monday.
"A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that 96 percent of likely US voters who support [presidential candidate Donald] Trump are angry at the current policies of the federal government, including 65 percent ho are very angry," a release explaining the poll said.
The survey also asked likely voters whether they agreed with former President Ronald Reagan’s oft-repeated opinion that government is not to solution to problems, but that government itself is "the problem."
Seventy two percent of polled Republicans agreed with the statement. More than half of democrats, or 53 percent, disagreed, according to the poll.
