Uzbekistan’s mobile operators have been ordered to cut off mobile internet, text message and MMS services for all subscribers for five hours while applicants are taking entrance exams to universities on Wednesday, a source in the Uzbek Communications Agency told RIA Novosti.
“Mobile internet and other services will be suspended from 08:30 to 13:30 local time [0530-1030 GMT],” he said.
The source said the measure is called upon to ensure fair exam taking procedures, preventing applicants from using the services during the exams.
