MOSCOW, October 22 (RIA Novosti) – One of the most dominating contemporary footballers, the outstanding Uruguayan striker Luis Suarez is ready to debut in the Real Madrid vs Barcelona game after four months of disqualification.

The 27-year-old footballer was barred from the pitch by FIFA for an accident during the Italy vs Uruguay match of 2014 World Cup in Brazil. The both teams were trailing goalless which would spurn Uruguay out of the tournament if the game ended this way. Suarez had decided to take out his frustration on Italian defender Giorgio Chiellini, biting him on the shoulder. Surprisingly, the referee showed him no card, but, ironically, later expelled an Italian player for a minor foul. The Uruguayans went on to score a goal and qualified further whereas Italy’s participation was over. The situation made headlines, and the FIFA Disciplinary Committee was quick to suspend Suarez for four months immediately, thus depriving him of the Cup’s quarterfinal.

The Uruguayan Football Association’s appeal to soften the penalty succeeded only partially, allowing Suarez to train professionally and participate in friendly games. Remarkably, the Chiellini bite is not the first one on Suarez’s disciplinary record. As an Ajax player, he had previously bitten a PSV Eindhoven midfielder Ottman Bakkal in 2010. But the seven-game disqualification did not teach him a lesson, as he “tasted” Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovich in 2011 while playing for Liverpool. These three cases prompted the media and fans to call Luis Suarez “The Cannibal.”

But despite all misbehavior, Suarez remains a God-gifted talent. His especially prominent achievement is 41 goals making him the highest-scoring player on the Uruguay national team ever. In addition, Luis Suarez’s brilliant performance in the English Premier League had won him the Golden Foot award.

Clearly the recent disqualification did not affect his transfer ability, with Spanish super club Barcelona exploding the market by paying roughly $100 million for the forward. Many believe that the constellation of Lionel Messi, Neymar and Luis Suarez will make “Blaugranas” the strongest team ever. The Uruguayan is likely to make his long anticipated debut in the most fundamental game of the Spanish Primera Division “El Clasico” between Real Madrid and Barcelona this Saturday.
