MOSCOW, September 30 (RIA Novosti) - Russian tennis player Maria Sharapova moved to the third round of the China Open, in Beijing. Its prize money exceeds $5.4 million.
In a second round match fourth-seeded Sharapova defeated Elina Svitolina of Ukraine 6-2, 6-2 in less than an hour and a half.
To reach the quarterfinals, Sharapova will face off against a winner of a match between Flavia Pennetta (14th-seeded, Italy) and Carla Suarez Navarro (Spain).
