MOSCOW, September 23 (RIA Novosti) – Russian tennis player Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova was beaten by Casey Dellacqua of Australia in the second round of the Wuhan Open tournament. The prize money exceeds $2.4 million.
Pavlyuchenkova, who reached the second round after Serbian Ana Ivanovic retired after the second set of the match, lost to Dellacqua 6-7 (7-9), 7-6 (7-5), 1-6. The match was 2 hours 48 minutes long.
In the next round, Dellacqua will face off against third seed Caroline Wozniacki of Denmark.
