MOSCOW, September 14 (RIA Novosti) -Portuguese footballer, Cristiano Ronaldo, currently playing for Spanish football club Real Madrid will leave the team at the end of the season, Daily Express reported on Sunday.

According to the British newspaper, Ronaldo is unhappy with the transfer policy at Real Madrid and has been previously quoted as saying, "I have a very clear opinion but I cannot always say what I think."

Ronaldo publicly challenged the Spanish club's decision to sell Angel Di Maria to English professional football club, Manchester United, and Xabi Alonso to the German team, Bayern Munich.

Ronaldo could either join Manchester City or return to Manchester United, according to reports. The transfer of the 29-year-old world player of the year, would cost some 60 million GBP, a price Manchester United's manager, Louis van Gaal may deem too high for the aging athlete. Paris Saint Germain may also be an option for Ronaldo, as they have been courting the footballer over the past 12 months.

Ronaldo became the world's most expensive player when he moved from Manchester United to Real Madrid in 2009 in a transfer costing 80 million GBP ($132 million) and is currently earning some 288,000 GBP per week, making him the third highest-paid footballer in the world after Lionel Messi and Wayne Rooney, the Daily Mail reported. Cristiano Ronaldo's most recent success includes the honor of being named the 2013-14 UEFA Best Player in Europe.
