MOSCOW, December 4 (R-Sport) - The KHL has fined Evgeni Malkin's lockout team $10,000 after its fans lit sparklers in the stands at a recent game.
Malkin scored a goal and grabbed two assists in Monday's 7-4 rout of Spartak Moscow by Metallurg Magnitogorsk.
Before the game began, some supporters at the Arena Metallurg lit up some sparklers, which goes against league rules, the KHL said.
"The use of Bengalese candles, as a form of pyrotechnic, is a gross violation of KHL rules and current laws, as well as being extremely dangerous," the KHL said on its website.
"It creates a real threat to the safety of spectators at sports events."
Monday's win snapped a three-game losing streak for Metallurg, which stayed fourth in the Eastern Conference but closed to within three points of leader Traktor Chelyabinsk.
