MOSCOW, December 3 (R-Sport) - Kirill Panchenko’s late strike ended a seven-game losing streak for Russian Premier League minnows Mordovia Saransk as they drew 1-1 with Amkar Perm on Monday.

The draw still leaves Mordovia last in the table and four points from safety in their debut top-flight season, while Amkar are 12th.

Panchenko beat two defenders before scoring with a low shot on 85 minutes to give Mordovia a point after they had seen more of the ball and played more aggressively.

Amkar had taken the lead on nine minutes through Igor Pikushchak, who hit a fine 25-yard strike into the top-right corner as the defense backed off him.

Friday saw Zenit St. Petersburg beat Spartak Moscow 4-2 away and FC Krasnodar edge out crosstown rivals FC Kuban in a 2-1 derby win.

On Saturday, Dynamo Moscow’s resurgence under Dan Petrescu continued with a 3-0 win over Rubin Kazan, before Lokomotiv Moscow beat Alania Vladikavkaz 1-0 and FC Volga drew 1-1 with Terek Grozny.

Sunday saw the tie of the round as Anzhi Makhachkala beat CSKA Moscow 2-0 in a top-of-the-table clash, before FC Rostov beat Krylya Sovetov by the same score.

One more round of games remains before the league takes a three-month winter break.
