MOSCOW, November 18 (R-Sport) – Lokomotiv Yaroslavl posted a 3-2 comeback win over CSKA Moscow on Sunday to rise to the top of the KHL's Western Conference.
Columbus Blue Jackets forward Artem Anisimov scored the winning goal for Lokomotiv's eighth consecutive win. That might change later Sunday as second-placed Dynamo Moscow takes on Dynamo Minsk.
Yakov Rylov and Toronto Maple Leafs center Mikhail Grabovski put CSKA two goals ahead in the first period, but Lokomotiv took its revenge in the opening minutes of the second period.
Sergei Plotnikov hit the net 15 seconds after the break, Yuri Petrov added another one minute later and Anisimov sealed the win with 23:31 on the clock.
CSKA is fourth in the West, with its three-game winning streak ended.
Elsewhere, Atlant Moscow Region managed to end its 11-game losing streak with a 2-1 beating of Lev Prague at home.
In the first game under new head coach Sergei Svetlov’s command, Atlant scored in the third minute via Alexander Rybakov and Andreas Engqvist doubled the lead in the second period.
Petr Vrana pulled one back for Lev in the third, but the relocated team couldn’t stave off defeat.
Atlant is 12th in the West and Lev is just inside the playoff zone in eight.
In another game Sunday, Severstal Cherepovets overcame SKA St. Petersburg 4-3 on penalty shots at home.
Alexei Medvedev beat Columbus Blue Jackets goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky to score the winning penalty shot.
SKA is currently second in the West and Severstal is fifth.
Other games saw Spartak Moscow clinch its first victory in the last six games with a 2-1 win over visiting Neftekhimik Nizhnekamsk and Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod beat Slovan Bratislava 3-2 on penalty shots at home.
