MOSCOW, November 17 (R-Sport) - Russian police said Sunday they have photographs of fans who threw pyrotechnics at Dynamo Moscow goalkeeper Anton Shunin and are hunting the culprits.

The referee led the players off after 36 minutes of Dynamo’s home game against Zenit St. Petersburg when a smoke bomb landed near Shunin, and Dynamo said the goalkeeper would be hospitalized with an eye injury.

“By means of the CCTV system, the alleged offenders have been found, we have their photographs,” the Interior Ministry said in a website statement.

“Police officers are taking the necessary measures for their arrests.”

The ministry added that 36 fans had been arrested for “various misdemeanors”. A Moscow police official had earlier said 35 arrests were made before the game, most for drunkenness at the stadium.

In addition, eight pyrotechnics had been confiscated, the ministry said.

Zenit have expressed regret over the incident, while the club’s general director threatened the team would withdraw from the league if punished too harshly over the incident.

Elsewhere, police in Nizhny Novgorod said they had made “loads of arrests” after 7,000 visiting Spartak Moscow fans set off pyrotechnics and damaged seats at their team’s 1-1 draw with FC Volga.
