Anzhi Draw With Lokomotiv in Chaotic Game

MOSCOW, November 11 (R-Sport) - A goalkeeping error and a freak goal resulted in title challengers Anzhi Makhachkala drawing 1-1 at Lokomotiv Moscow on Sunday and ceding ground to Russian Premier League leaders CSKA Moscow.

Anzhi are now three points adrift of CSKA, while eighth-placed Lokomotiv’s winless run extended to six league games after a chaotic match on a pitch in appalling condition after Anzhi beat Liverpool 1-0 there Thursday.

Mehdi Carcela-Gonzalez scored against the run of play for Anzhi on 72 minutes when he struck a 20-yard shot that bounced off a divot in the box and left goalkeeper Guilherme stranded.

Anzhi keeper Vladimir Gabulov made a string of saves from Lokomotiv striker Dame N’Doye throughout, but blundered when the Senegal striker got a touch to a Roman Pavlyuchenko shot and the ball dribbled over the line for an 84th-minute equalizer.
