MOSCOW, November 10 (R-Sport) - Russian figure skating star Evgeni Plushenko has received a trophy at the Internationale Sportnacht event in Davos, Switzerland.
The annual charity event was held Friday to award sporting stars “for outstanding performances."
Plushenko, the 2006 Olympic champion and a seven-time European champion, is the first Russian to pick up a trophy in the event's ten-year history.
Besides Plushenko, who turned 30 last week, 10 other athletes lifted were awarded the prize, including footballers Dejan Stankovic, who is the only player to take part in three World Cups with three different countries, and AC Milan legend Franco Baresi.
