KHL: Amur Releases Ex-Flyer Pyorala, Signs Lindgren

Amur Khabarovsk has released Finnish forward Mika Pyorala and signed his compatriot Perttu Lindgren, the KHL team reported Friday.

MOSCOW, November 9 (R-Sport) - Amur Khabarovsk has released Finnish forward Mika Pyorala and signed his compatriot Perttu Lindgren, the KHL team reported Friday.

Former Philadelphia Flyers wing Pyorala made 25 appearances for the KHL's easternmost team, notching up 11 points.

Pyorala, 31, arrived in Russia in the summer from the Swedish league, where he spent two years after playing 36 games for the Flyers in the 2009-10 season.

Pyorala was the part of the Sweden team that won 2011 World Championships in Slovakia.

Lindgren penned a contract with Amur till the end of the season after he was put on trade waivers by Atlant Moscow Region last week.

The 25-year-old center scored four points in 19 games for Atlant after joining in May from Finnish team Lukko.

Lindgren was picked by the Dallas Stars in the third round of 2005 draft but played only one NHL game.

Amur is second from the bottom in the Eastern Conference with eight wins in 25 games.
