MOSCOW, November 8 (R-Sport) - The silver medalist in the women's discus at the London Olympics is reportedly suspected of using anabolic steroids.

Darya Pishchalnikova, who has already served a two-year doping ban, took second place in London behind Croatia's Sandra Perkovic.

Russian newspaper Sport Express reported a sample taken two months before the Games turned out a negative result, but a second analysis conducted after the Olympics showed traces of steroids.

The president of the Russian Athletics Federation warned against jumping to any conclusions.

"Darya has already been punished for a similar violation," said Valentin Balakhnichev in website comments. "If this is confirmed, she could get a lifetime disqualification."

"But only after a close examination of all the results, investigations and explanations from the athletes, the Russian anti-doping agency and the IAAF will an official decision be made publically."

Pishchalnikova, the 2006 European champion, was handed her first suspension in 2008 after manipulating drug samples.

She returned to competition at the 2011 World Athletics Championships in Daegu, South Korea, where she finished 11th.
