MOSCOW, November 2 (R-Sport) - Sibir Novosibirsk broke its four-game losing streak with a 5-3 road win over Lev Prague to go sixth in the KHL's Eastern Conference

Sibir led the standings in the East early in the season, but has since slipped and now has 13 wins in 24 games, while Lev, without a coach since Josef Jandac was fired last week, is ninth in the West, one point outside the playoff zone.

“I’m glad that after four games we worked hard and won,” Sibir coach Dmitry Kvartalnov said.

“We were good on both the powerplay and in defense. I’d like to thank my team for a good game.”

Sibir forward Maxim Krivonozhkin scored the first goal on a power-play on seven minutes from Alexander Nikulin's assist.

Lev replied through team top-scorer Jakub Klepis, who scored on the rebound after a slap shot from Boston Bruins defenseman Zdeno Chara, at Lev for the lockout.

Nikita Zaitsev put Sibir in lead in the second period on another powerplay, before ex-New York Rangers wing Marcel Hossa leveled the score once more at the start of the third.

Sibir then struck three times in five minutes through Artem Voroshilov, Jonas Enlund and Alexei Kopeikin to go 5-2 ahead and put the game beyond Lev's reach.

Klepis scored his second for Lev in the dying seconds of the game, but it meant little.
