MOSCOW, October 27 (RIA Novosti)
A late header from Vladimir Koman rescued a 1-1 draw for FC Krasnodar on Saturday at FC Volga.
Krasnodar stay 10th in the Russian Premier League, while Volga’s point is not enough to move them off the foot of the table, although they are now two points from safety.
On 78 minutes, Hungary midfielder Koman sent a looping header into the top corner of Mikhail Kerzhakov’s goal from an Alexander Amisulashvili cross to level the score.
Volga’s Shota Bibilov had put his team ahead 14 minutes earlier with a powerful strike from 20 yards as the Krasnodar defense failed to close him down.
Krasnodar had the better of the match but failed to unlock the Volga defense often.
The hosts missed a notable chance on 35 minutes when Ilya Maximov struck the ball at Krasnodar goalkeeper Andrei Sinitsyn from seven yards out.
Earlier, ex-Everton winger Diniyar Bilyaletdinov scored one goal and set up another as Spartak Moscow beat Mordovia Saransk 2-0.
Later Saturday, reigning champions Zenit travel to Vladikavkaz to face Alania.
Sunday sees Rubin Kazan host Anzhi and surprise package Terek Grozny meet second-placed CSKA Moscow, before Dan Petrescu’s Dynamo Moscow take on Krylya Sovetov.
On Friday, a late goal from Bulgaria captain Ivelin Popov gave FC Kuban a 1-0 home victory against FC Rostov.
