An injury-time own goal from Juan Manuel Insaurralde gifted Russian Premier League leaders Anzhi Makhachkala a 2-1 win over 10-man Spartak Moscow on Saturday.

The result extends Anzhi's lead over CSKA Moscow to five points at least until Sunday, when can CSKA close the gap to two points with a win over Rubin Kazan.

Argentinian defender Insaurralde stooped to head away a cross from Mehdi Carcela-Gonzalez, but could only divert the ball past his own goalkeeper three minutes into stoppage time.

Spartak had held out admirably after they had defender Kirill Kombarov dismissed for a second yellow card on 46 minutes.

Diniyar Bilyaletdinov put Spartak ahead with a rare goal on 35 minutes, rifling high into the net after Brazilian striker Welliton had hit the post, collected the rebound and laid it off to the midfielder.

Anzhi substitute Lacina Traore leveled it on 64 minutes, coolly slotting into the far corner from the edge of the box. The lofty striker missed several other opportunities before Insaurralde gave the home side all three points.

Anzhi midfielder Lassana Diarra limped off on 30 minutes and is a possible doubt for Thursday's Europa League clash with Liverpool at Anfield.

Anzhi coach Guus Hiddink missed the game after a knee injury in training left him in a Moscow clinic. His assistant Zeljko Petrovic of Montenegro conducted dugout duties.

Later Saturday, champions Zenit St. Petersburg host FC Kuban, and newly promoted Alania Vladikavkaz travel to FC Krasnodar.
