MOSCOW, October 2 (RIA Novosti) – The Boston Bruins' six-time All-Star defenseman Zdeno Chara is to sign a lockout contract with Lev Prague, the KHL team announced Tuesday.

The Slovak veteran with a fierce shot is to team up with NHL forwards Jiri Hudler of the Calgary Flames and Jakub Voracek of the Philadelphia Flyers, who both joined Lev last month.

"The player wants to play in Prague, we will finalize everything in the next few hours," the team said in a website statement.

Chara has spent 14 seasons in the NHL, the last six in Boston, racking up 498 points and 1,623 penalty minutes in 1,114 games.

In 2009, he won the James Norris Memorial Trophy awarded to the best defensive player of the league, before raising the Stanley Cup with the Bruins in 2011.

Chara is a five-time winner of the Hardest Shot competition, with a current record of 108.8 miles per hour set this year.

Lev Prague is currently top of the Western Conference with eight wins in 12 matches.
