Despite his age, U.S. heavyweight Hasim Rahman is still a very dangerous opponent for Alexander Povetkin, Russian cruiserweight Denis Lebedev told R-Sport on Wednesday.

WBA regular heavyweight champion Povetkin, 33, looks to defend his title against the 39-year-old Rahman on September 29 in Hamburg.

“I don’t like the word “favorite,” we all know that Rahman is not young, but look at the Klitschko brothers,” Lebedev said, adding that both fighters have their advantages.

“In this fight, one has young age and hunger for victories on his side, and the other, I would say, has not just a load but absolutely bags of experience, and this is important.”

Lebedev mentioned the strong points of the Rahman style, insisting one heavy blow could decide it all.

“We all have seen what fights Rahman is capable of. He can save his strength, deliver unexpected hits with his right. We also know the power of his blows from his fights.”

Povetkin has won all of his 24 fights, with 16 by way of knockout, while Rahman has a 50-7 record win two draws and one no-contest.
