FC Rostov have parted company with ex-Russia striker Roman Adamov days after signing former England winger David Bentley and one-time Liverpool forward Florent Sinama-Pongolle, the Russian Premier League side said Tuesday.

FC Rostov have parted company with ex-Russia striker Roman Adamov days after signing former England winger David Bentley and one-time Liverpool forward Florent Sinama-Pongolle, the Russian Premier League side said Tuesday.

The 30-year-old Adamov, who won three caps for Russia in 2008, had been a Rostov player since 2010 and played in six of the team’s seven games so far this season before his abrupt departure.

“The Rostov football club and striker Roman Adamov have parted ways by mutual agreement,” the club said in a website statement.

“We wish him success in his further career.”

The club did not provide any reason for Adamov’s departure.

Adamov played 134 Russian league games for Rostov, scoring 30 goals.

The team are 13th of 16 teams in the Russian Premier League and lie two points above the relegation zone.
