FC Rostov striker Dmitri Kirichenko has returned from a five weeks on the sidelines with a thigh injury and now is back in training, the team said Saturday.

Kirichenko, 35, damaged the quadriceps muscle on his left leg in Rostov's 2-2 draw against Anzhi Makhachkala in July and has not played since.

Defender Isaac Okoronkwo, who is yet to make an appearance this season, has recovered from an unspecified injury and joined former Russia international Kirichenko at the training ground in Rostov-on-Don.

After seven games, Miodrag Bozovic’s side languish in 13th in the Russian Premier League table with six points, winning only one game so far, against newly-promoted Alania Vladikavkaz.

In an attempt to fortify their midfield, Rostov signed England international David Bentley on loan from Tottenham Hotspur on Thursday, who became the first English footballer to play in the Russian league.

The 28-year-old Bentley, who has seven caps for England, is contracted until the end of the season.
