Krylya Sovetov’s new signing Bruno Teles believes that moving to Russia from the Portuguese league is a big step forward in his career, he said Thursday.

Krylya Sovetov signed Teles, a 26-year-old Brazilian left-back, on a three-year deal from Portugal’s Vitoria on Wednesday.

“I think that I’ve made a big step forward in my career and now I’m in one of the most significant European championships,” Teles said on the Krylya Sovetov website.

Teles started out at Brazilian side Gremio before joining Vitoria in 2010, where he scored four goals in 25 games in the Primeira Liga last season.

Vitoria finished sixth in the league last season, while Krylya Sovetov just avoided the Russian Premier League's relegation playoff zone, finishing 12th.
