German boxer Manuel Charr says he would never have had a shot at Vitali Klitschko if he employed a promoter.

Charr is unbeaten in 21 fights, winning 11 of them by knockout, and boxes for Klitschko's WBC title on Saturday at Moscow's Olimpiisky Sports Complex.

The 21-year-old founded his own promoter company in February, and has since organized five fights.

"I am not sure that by cooperating with any promotion company I would be fighting for the world title now. I achieved this as a private entrepreneur," Charr was quoted as saying by specialist boxing site allboxing.com.

He added: "If everything is okay with your brains, it's not difficult."

The Syrian-born boxer made a surprise appearance at a news conference following the all-British contest between David Haye and Dereck Chisora. Charr publicly vowed to the triumphant Haye that he would be next after demolishing Klitschko.

Klitschko has won 44 of his 46 professional fights, with both of his defeats coming from technical knockouts due to cuts or injury, and has never been knocked down in the professional ring.

The Moscow bout will be his first fight in Russia.

Rumors have swirled that the fight may be the last for the 40-year-old Klitschko, who has said he will seek election to the Ukrainian parliament in October.
