Chicago-born shooting guard Henry Domercant is to join Turkish team Galatasaray on a one-year deal with an option for another season, the team said Tuesday.
Earlier this month, his former team UNICS Kazan claimed Domercant had breached his contract by signing with another club without the Russian team's permission.
"Galatasaray Medical Park and Henry Domercant have reached an agreement for a 1+1 year contract," Galatasary said in a website statement.
Domercant, a former college basketball star, joined UNICS from fellow Russian team Spartak St. Petersburg on a two-year deal last summer.
UNICS vice-president Stanislav Yeremin said earlier this month that Domercant's contract has a clause allowing him to leave if UNICS fails to qualify for Euroleague play.
The team fell short, finishing fifth in the Russian championship, but later received a wildcard to participate in the Euroleague.
Last week Yeremin told R-Sport that UNICS was seeking a financial compromise with Galatasaray.
Domercant's career has also taken in Dynamo Moscow, Efes Pilsen and Olympiacos Piraeus.
