Alan Dzagoev scored one goal and set up another as his CSKA Moscow team crushed Mordovia Saransk 3-0 away in the Russian Premier League on Sunday.

CSKA had been under pressure before the game, with all their main strikers injured, but the win lifts Leonid Slutsky's team to sixth, with nine points from five games.

Serbia midfielder Zoran Tosic opened the scoring on the half-hour off a pass from Keisuke Honda, striking the ball into the lower corner of the net from the penalty area.

Dzagoev put the second past Mordovia goalkeeper David Yurchenko on 41 minutes after a brilliant 40-yard pass from a new signing, Sweden midfielder Rasmus Elm.

On 56 minutes, Dzagoev set up Aleksandrs Cauna and the Lithuanian midfielder rounded Yurchenko before scoring into the empty net.

Earlier Sunday, Dynamo Moscow’s disastrous start to the season continued with a fifth defeat in five league games as a brace from Maciej Rybus brought ten-man Terek Grozny a 2-1 win.

On Saturday, a controversial late penalty from Dmitry Kombarov and a debut goal for Romulo gave Spartak Moscow all three points in a 2-1 win over Rubin Kazan, while Lokomotiv Moscow beat FC Volga 2-1 and FC Krasnodar and FC Rostov played out a 0-0 draw.

Later on Sunday, Anzhi clash with Zenit St. Petersburg.

On Monday, Krylya Sovetov play Amkar Perm and Alania Vladikavkaz meet FC Kuban.
