Anzhi’s Ivorian striker Lacina Traore has returned to training after two and a half weeks out with a thigh injury, Anzhi said Wednesday.
The tall 21-year-old, Anzhi's biggest signing of the summer so far, was hurt in a league match against FC Rostov on July 29 and missed both legs of Anzhi's Europa League third qualifying round tie against Vitesse Arnhem, which the Russian club won 4-0 on aggregate.
Traore will be able to play in Sunday’s clash against Russian champions Zenit and in the Europa League play-off round against Dutch side AZ Alkmaar on August 23, the club said.
Anzhi signed Traore in June after he finished the 2011-12 Russian Premier League season with 18 goals in 39 matches for Dan Petrescu’s FC Kuban, making him the league's third-best scorer.
