Alexei Ionov scored one goal and saw one of his crosses lead to an own goals as his FC Kuban team won 2-1 against crosstown rivals FC Krasnodar in the Russian Premier League on Friday.
Krasnodar defender Aleksandr Amisulashvili kicked the ball into his own net on 38 minutes after Ionov sent in a dangerous cross from the left wing.
The ex-Russia midfielder doubled his team's lead on 80 minutes with a powerful strike into the far corner after picking up a pass from Costa Rica forward Marcos Urena.
Krasnodar striker Yura Movsisyan scored a consolation goal on 86 minutes after a cross from midfielder Alexander Yerokhin.
"In the first half both teams played badly because both teams played badly, but it is normal for Kuban because they don't play football," said Krasnodar coach Slavoljub Muslin, aiming a dig at Dan Petrescu's men.
"But I can only congratulate my team on the second half, we did really well."
Krasnodar took the initiative in the second half, but missed several good chances to equalize.
On 58 minutes midfielder Vladislav Ignatiev was first to a rebound from his teammate Joaozhinho's long shot but fired past the post.
Movsisyan missed an opportunity on 67 minutes, firing over the bar from close range.
On Saturday, champions Zenit St. Petersburg host Spartak Moscow, while Lokomotiv Moscow face Alania Vladikavkaz and Terek Grozny play FC Volga.
In four matches Sunday, CSKA Moscow host Anzhi and Rubin Kazan welcome Dynamo Moscow, while Amkar Perm face Mordovia Saransk and Rostov meet Krylya Sovetov.
