Sergei Semak scored twice and won a penalty as Zenit St. Petersburg demolished CSKA Moscow 3-1 in the Russian Premier League on Saturday.

This result continued Zenit's 100 percent record this season, while CSKA suffered their second consecutive 3-1 defeat after being stunned by Amkar Perm a week before.

"We played badly, Zenit played in a simple way, but they played their own football and everything worked for them," CSKA defender Alexei Berezutsky said.

"We didn't come here to play like people who won something in the past and came to rest on their laurels," Zenit coach Luciano Spalletti said.

"We came here to show that we want to win this game and this championship. And that's the right attitude."

Midfielder Semak opened the score on 10 minutes with a tap-in off a cross from Russia striker Alexander Kerzhakov.

Three minutes, later Semak went one on one with CSKA goalkeeper Igor Akinfeev, who tripped him.

The referee pointed to the spot but showed Akinfeev a yellow card rather than sending him off.

On 32 minutes Semak grabbed Zenit's third with a placed finish off a pass from Vladimir Bystrov.

Japanese midfielder Keisuke Honda scored what turned out to be a consolation goal for CSKA, volleying the ball into the net after a cross from Brazilian defender Mario Fernandes two minutes before the break.

In the second half, Zenit sat back and poor finishing prevented CSKA from scoring a second.

Later Saturday, Terek Grozny visit Alania Vladikavkaz and Lokomotiv Moscow face FC Krasnodar away.
