Former Pittsburgh Penguins forward Konstantin Koltsov wants to recover his scoring form at his new KHL team Atlant Moscow Region, he said Friday.

Koltsov scored just one goal and made 11 assists in 57 games at Salavat Yulaev last season before joining Atlant, the team Salavat beat in the 2011 Gagarin Cup final, on Thursday.

“I understand that one goal for a forward is, to be blunt, not very much,” Koltsov said.

“I’ve got something to work on and don’t doubt that I’ll do everything I can to recover this season.”

Koltsov notched up 12 goals and 26 assists in 144 games with the Penguins over three seasons between 2002 and 2006.

The Belarusian joined Salavat in 2007 and was with the team for the last two seasons of the Russian Super League, the opening KHL season in 2008-09 and the 2011 Gagarin Cup triumph.
